Houston Astros Rally in Eighth Inning with the Help of Two Errors

Late-Inning Errors Prove Costly for Royals

The Houston Astros took advantage of two errors in the eighth inning to score four runs and come from behind to defeat the Kansas City Royals 6-3 on Tuesday night.

With the game tied 2-2, the Astros loaded the bases with one out against Royals reliever Scott Barlow. Jose Altuve then hit a ground ball to third base that Royals third baseman Emmanuel Rivera bobbled, allowing two runs to score.

The next batter, Yordan Alvarez, hit a ground ball to shortstop that Royals shortstop Nicky Lopez threw wide of first base, allowing another two runs to score.

Those errors proved to be the difference in the game, as the Astros held on to win for their fourth straight victory.

Astros' Offense Comes Alive Late

The Astros' offense struggled for much of the game, but they came alive in the eighth inning. Altuve and Alvarez each had two hits in the inning, and Alex Bregman added a sacrifice fly.

The Astros' offense has been one of the best in the American League this season, but they have struggled at times to score runs in the late innings.

Their performance in the eighth inning on Tuesday was a good sign that they are starting to figure things out.

Royals' Errors Cost Them the Game

The Royals' errors in the eighth inning proved to be costly. Rivera's error allowed two runs to score, and Lopez's error allowed two more runs to score.

Those errors were uncharacteristic of the Royals, who have been one of the best fielding teams in the American League this season.

The Royals' defense will need to be better if they want to compete for a playoff spot this season.

Astros Improve to 4-0 on Road Trip

With the win, the Astros improved to 4-0 on their current road trip. They will face the Royals again on Wednesday before heading to Cleveland to face the Indians.

The Astros are now 20-16 this season, which is good for second place in the American League West.

The Royals fell to 14-22 this season, which is last place in the American League Central.
